GREEN FUTURES IN A NUTSHELL
Green Futures trains unemployed people from the local Overberg region of South Africa to be able to garden with indigenous Fynbos plants. Green Futures is a unique role model project linking conservation, horticulture and education to sustainable livelihoods.

OUR MISSION

To promote nature-based sustainable livelihoods through training and skills development in the fields of fynbos landscaping, horticulture and ecotourism.

WHY MUST WE CONSERVE FYNBOS?

Many fynbos plants have become extinct as a result of human activity. Cape Fynbos is severely threatened by invasive alien vegetation, uncontrolled fires and urban and agricultural development. Fynbos conservation is also important as the plants provide a habitat and food for a wide variety of animals.
