Adverts were placed in a number of public places in Gansbaai such as the library, clinic and community centre. The basic requirements for the course are a Grade 9 pass and a good grasp of spoken and written English. About 60 applicants filled in our questionaire and returned it to the selection panel. Twenty students were shortlisted for interviews from which ten were selected to join two senior students from Grootbos.
